A new technical „revolution “ – that is how nanotechnology is called nowadays. It is proposed that nanotechnology can help to save energy or cure several diseases. But besides the welfare promises, nanotechnology can be an invisible threat for humans and the environment. WECF demands more risk research and risk assessment, use of nanomaterials only if it is clear that there will be no harm for health and environment, integration of nanoparticels in existing regulatory systems and providing of information to the public.
